AmaZulu FC bagged three points from their big 5-1 win over Chippa United in a Premier Soccer League encounter on Saturday at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
The impressive performance saw AmaZulu return to winning ways after suffering a 3-0 defeat against Orlando Pirates at Orlando Amstel Arena last weekend.
Liam Bern scored the opening goal for Usuthu in the 33rd minute, but Chilli Boys fought back and equalised in the 35th minute when Azola Matrose found the back of the net.
Athini Maqokola and Siphamandla Zikhali extended the home side’s lead just before half-time as they scored two goals in the 44th minute and in the first minute of added time.
The hosts added two more goals in the second half as Maqokola scored a brace in the 74th and 79th minutes.
AmaZulu currently sit fourth in the league table, four points adrift of Kaizer Chiefs, who have collected 46 points in 24 games. Usuthu will be looking for a strong finish to the campaign to overtake Chiefs in the race for continental football.
In Polokwane, Sekhukhune United and Marumo Gallants shared the spoils after a 1-1 draw at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Elsewhere Golden Arrows and Siwelele FC shared spoils following a 0-0 draw in a Premier Soccer League game on Friday at King Zwelithini Stadium.
