The five remaining AmaZulu queens and their children brief the media about succession issues in the royal house.
They did not speak before as they were observing a month’s mourning for Queen Mantfombi Dlamini-Zulu.
Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi addressed the media on Friday and spoke about delays in the coronation of King Misuzulu due to continuing disagreements. Last month, the High Court postponed a case brought by some of the late King Zwelithini’s children, challenging the signature on their father’s will.
While King Misuzulu has been widely accepted as the heir to the throne, two of the late king’s daughters from KwaKhethomthandayo Palace launched an application for a court interdict seeking to stop the coronation of Prince Misuzulu Zulu as king of the Zulu nation.
