Vietnamese club Thép Xanh Nam Định officially confirmed they have parted ways with South African talisman Percy Tau after just a single season.

The 32-year-old attacker signed for the club in August 2025 after a six-month loan spell with Qatar SC from Egyptian giants Al Ahly SC.

He had put pen to paper on a deal that runs until June 2026, making 22 appearances across all competitions with four assists and a solitary goal.

The club released a brief statement on Thursday, 21 May, confirming departure of Lion of Judah. The side wished Tau well for his next chapter.

“Thank you for your contributions, Percy Tau. Wishing you success and good luck on your journey ahead,” the club announced.

The title holders currently sit seventh on the log standings, having picked up 31 points in 23 matches, with three fixtures remaining before the season draws to a close.

Meanwhile, Njabulo Blom, was also released by Nam Dinh as the club made the announcement on Wednesday afternoon.

Blom left the club without making an official appearance as he sustained a long-term injury at the beginning of the season.

He had joined Nam Dinh last year after his exit at Major League Soccer (MLS) outfit St Louis City – this after a loan spell at his boyhood club in the 2024/25 season.
