Parliament is debating the 16 Days of Activism campaign.
The campaign is being held under the banner of ‘Building safer communities and realising gender equality through socio-economic empowerment of women and youth in the year of Charlotte Maxeke’.
According to the latest crime stats, there was a 31.7 percent increase in child murders.
There’s also been an increase in the rape and murder of women.
This is despite the lockdown and government attempts to combat GBV.
