Marumo Gallants announced on Wednesday, 09 September 2026, that they’ve parted ways with head coach Phuti Mohafe and assistant Musa Bilankulu with immediate effect.
The club confirmed via a statement that the pair had been shown the exit door.
“Marumo Gallants F.C. confirms that the Club has parted ways with Head Coach Phuti Mohafe and Assistant Coach Musa Bilankulu, with immediate effect”, read the club statement.
Mohafe, who joined Gallants in the off-season, was seen as an established coach in the PSL to take Gallants to better heights, has struggled to elevate the team’s level.
Fullview learnt that Dimitar Pantev is in South Africa to replace Mohafe.
Gallants are scheduled to travel to Durban for a crucial away clash against AmaZulu F.C. at Princess Magogo Stadium on Saturday. Currently tied on two points with 14th-placed Siwelele F.C., a victory for Gallants would see them claim their first three points of the season.
