For one weekend in December, Sun City will have considerably more on offer than world class golf.
The Nedbank Golf Challenge is bringing together some of the biggest names in the sport and one of alternative rock’s most enduring bands, with American rock heavyweights +LIVE+ set to perform at the Sun City Superbowl on Saturday, 5 December 2026.
It promises to be one of the standout nights of the year, and a fitting celebration of the Nedbank Golf Challenge’s Day and Night experience, where Africa’s Major extends beyond the fairways into world class entertainment.
+LIVE+, the band behind anthems such as Lightning Crashes, I Alone and All Over You, will make their long-awaited return to South Africa nearly a decade after their last appearance.
Their Sun City performance forms part of a five show South African tour, with the band also scheduled to perform at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden in Cape Town on 8 and 9 December, before heading to SunBet Arena at Time Square in Pretoria on 11 and 12 December.
But the Sun City show carries its own special appeal.
On the same weekend that golf’s biggest names compete at the Gary Player Country Club, +LIVE+ will take centre stage at the Superbowl, creating a rare sporting and entertainment experience in one of South Africa’s most iconic destinations.
The 2026 Nedbank Golf Challenge, in honour of Gary Player, takes place from 3 to 6 December, with a stellar opening field already confirmed.
Major champion and Ryder Cup star Justin Rose, American superstar Bryson DeChambeau, defending champion Kristoffer Reitan, South African rising star Casey Jarvis and England’s Marco Penge are among the first five players announced.
Rose, ranked 12th in the world, returns to a tournament where he finished runner up in 2007. “I’m excited to get back to South Africa – where I have so many family and friends – for what is always a fantastic event in a stunning location,” Rose said.
DeChambeau will make his Nedbank Golf Challenge debut and has another piece of history in his sights. “It’s an honour for me to play in South Africa again, a country I really enjoy, “he said. “I’ve been privileged to have won Jack Nicklaus’s tournament and Arnold Palmer’s tournament, and now I want to win Gary Player’s tournament.”
Reitan returns to defend the title he won by a single shot last year, while Jarvis arrives as one of the most exciting young players on the DP World Tour following back to back victories and a career best tied sixth finish at The Open.
And then, when the golf clubs are put away, the music takes over.
+LIVE+ have a particularly strong history with South African audiences. Their 2017 visit delivered packed venues and huge sing alongs, while a planned return for the Throwing Copper anniversary tour was ultimately derailed by the Covid pandemic.
Now, the wait is over.
For fans heading to Sun City on 5 December, the prospect is simple: Bryson, Justin, Ed and an evening of +LIVE+.

That is the Nedbank Golf Challenge’s Day and Night experience, and in 2026, Sun City is set to turn it up several notches.
