The COSATU’s 15th National Congress has been postponed following delays and infighting over the status of the federation’s deputy president, Mike Shingange.
The trade union federation says it will explain the reasons for the postponement during a media briefing on Wednesday.
Shingange was expected to contest for the position of COSATU president. However, his candidacy was put on hold after he was suspended by his union, the National Education, Health and Allied Workers’ Union (NEHAWU).
