Log leaders Borussia Dortmund are the only team in the Bundesliga with a 100 percent record and Harry Kane has smashed the record for reaching the milestone of 100 goals in the least amount of games, as the German league pauses for the international break.
New-look Germany begin life under Jürgen Klopp away to the Netherlands in Amsterdam tonight with plenty of Bundesliga stars on show, including Mark Flekken (Bayer 04 Leverkusen) and Joey Veerman (Borussia Dortmund) in the Dutch squad.
Veerman’s Dortmund made it four straight Bundesliga wins going into the fortnight-long break as Maximilian Beier scored to seal their 1-0 win at VfB Stuttgart to put BVB top of the table, usurping FC Bayern München who briefly took first spot on Friday with a 7-0 romp against 1. FC Union Berlin.
Kane scored twice in the rout, leaving him on 101 Bundesliga goals in 98 games – the quickest in the league’s history – to smash the previous record of 129 matches set by 1. FC Köln striker Dieter Müller nearly 50 years ago. For context among the legendary Bundesliga strikers, Gerd Müller needed 136 games and Robert Lewandowski took 168 matches to reach the 100-mark.

Alongside Dortmund and Bayern, SC Freiburg also remain unbeaten after four games in the Bundesliga as Japan international Yuito Suzuki equalised at Eintracht Frankfurt last Saturday to salvage a point in a 2-2 draw.
There was a seven-goal thriller at Borussia Mönchengladbach, where 1. FSV Mainz 05 claimed a 4-3 win at Die Fohlen, who have named ex-FC St. Pauli boss Alexander Blessin as their new head coach, tasked with getting them off the bottom of the table when the Bundesliga resumes on 9 October.
