The Bundesliga’s freshly-crowned Ballon d’Or winner Harry Kane will be front and centre of the hosts’ attack when FC Bayern München host Borussia Dortmund on Saturday in a top-of-the-table clash for Der Klassiker.
After banging in a remarkable 73 goals last season for club and country, the England forward scooped both the overall Ballon d’Or award as the world’s best footballer and the best striker trophy at a gala ceremony in London on Monday.
He is the first Bundesliga player to win the coveted Ballon d’Or since Matthias Sammer for Borussia Dortmund in 1996.
With Bayern top of the table ahead of second-placed Dortmund, a mouth-watering clash beckons at the Allianz Arena with both teams level on 17 points and the Munich team leading on goal difference.
For the first time, the clash between Bayern and Dortmund will be recreated and visualised in a unique Playmobil-inspired world using official real-time match data, in a new initiative offered to broadcast partners.
Missing from the sidelines will be Vincent Kompany, who we wish a speedy recovery after the Bayern head coach collapsed at a training session last week.
Bayern have scored a record 18 goals in their first three home games of 2026-27 and a total of 147 in their last 41 Bun desliga fixtures. Dortmund have five clean sheets and only four goals con ceded. Since the start of 2025-26, that is only 38 in 41 matches (Bayern: 42).
To kick off the weekend of Bundesliga action, SV Elversberg welcome Mainz 05 to the Ursapharm-Arena on Friday 30 October 2026 in a Bundesliga Matchday clash that pits two teams who have started the season in similar fashion.
Elversberg have never lost back-to-back league fixtures under Vincent Wagner and have won five of their last six home league games. Mainz 05 are the only team with a 100 percent winning record on the road this season and haven’t dropped points away from home since April or lost since February.
SC Freiburg in third travel to FC Augsburg in ninth, Bayer 04 Leverkusen in fourth welcome a struggling VfB Stuttgart in fifteenth, high-powered SV Werder Bremen entertain resurgent TSG Hoffenheim, RB Leipzig in fifth visit FC Schalke 04 in sixteenth, and bottom-end Borussia Mönchengladbach will hope to claim a second victory this season in their encounter with SC Paderborn 07.
In the two Sunday games, second-to-bottom 1. FC Union Berlin clash with twelfth-placed FC Köln before Hamburger SV in eleventh conclude the matchday at Eintracht Frankfurt who sit in fourteenth.
