The DHL Stormers produced a dominant 48-12 bonus-point victory over league leaders Glasgow Warriors in Cape Town on 25 April 2026, scoring six tries to two.
The visitors enjoyed a four-point lead at the top going into the game, so by picking up five points and denying Glasgow anything, the Stormers made sure they will end the weekend back in the pole position they were in earlier in the season, with two away matches against Ulster and Cardiff to come.
Leinster still have to play Benetton and had the same number of points as the Stormers at the start of round 16, but they were behind on points difference, and after this big win, that should remain the case even if Leinster score a big win in Treviso.
Stormers took a grip on the game early. Prop Ntutukho Mchunu crashed over from a clever set-piece move before finishing off a rolling lineout maul for his second try as the home side raced into a 17-0 lead.
With Jack Dempsey in the sin-bin, the game was threatening to get away from Glasgow very quickly, but a brilliant break from Sione Tuipulotu led to a try for Ollie Smith, who finished superbly to give his team some hope.
That hope was shortlived as Stormers picked up the crumbs from a high contestable kick to shred Warriors’ defence with a scintillating counter attack, Evan Roos shrugging off the attentions of Kyle Rowe to score.
Stormers scrum-half Cobus Reinach was shown a yellow card for halting a Glasgow attack on the South African line, and Warriors made the pressure pay when Gregor Hiddleston crashed over to narrow the gap to 12 points heading into half-time.
A long-range penalty from Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu took Stormers’ advantage back beyond two scores early in the second half.
Moments after knocking on with the Stormers tryline in sight, Glasgow were reduced to 14 when Adam Hastings was sent to the bin for a head-high hit on André Hugo-Venter.
Minutes later, Feinberg-Mngomezulu put in a pin-point grubber to send Ruhan Nel over for a crucial score. The mercurial Stormers flyhalf slotted the touchline conversion to push his team out to 34-12.
There was some concern when Reinach limped off with what looked like a knee injury as the game became a scrappy affair.
A thrilled home crowd were then treated to the sight of Markus Muller becoming the youngest-ever player for the Stormers as the 18-year-old centre came on with 13 minutes to go.
There was still time for Feinberg-Mngomezulu and replacement flank Keke Morabe to dot down as the home side ran riot. Feinberg-Mngomezulu capped a brilliant all-round display for a personal tally of 23 points.
