Bafana Bafana won the Plate section at the COSAFA Cup after defeating Botswana 2-1 on Sunday morning.
Bafana made wholesale changes to the side that beat Madagascar, as only captain Kegan Johannes, his central defence partner Athenkosi Mcaba and Rowan Human retained their places in the line-up.
Helman Mkhalele’s charges came away with a win thanks to goals from Antonio van Wyk and Selaelo Rasebotja.
Van Wyk opened the scoring for South Africa in the 34th minute to give Bafana a 1-0 lead at half-time before Rasebotja doubled the lead in the second half.
Thato Kebue scored for Botswana in the final minutes of the encounter.
However, it was too little too late as Bafana Bafana held on to win the plate section of the COSAFA Cup.
