Borussia Monchengladbach battled back from two goals down to stun champions Bayern Munich 3-2 on Friday, with a double from Jonas Hofmann and another from Florian Neuhaus.
A Robert Lewandowski penalty and a 20-yard Leon Goretzka effort seemed to put the champions in control.
But Jonas Hofmann got Gladbach back level with two finishes from Lars Stindl’s passes.
Florian Neuhaus then smashed home a brilliant winner three minutes after the break for the seventh-placed hosts.
Two of Flick’s four losses in his Treble-winning 14 months as Bayern boss have come against Gladbach.
“We ourselves are to blame for this defeat,” Bayern coach Hansi Flick said. “Gladbach were extremely efficient and they took full advantage of three mistakes we made.”
“After the 3-2 we never bounced back as we had hoped. Gladbach closed the spaces and played their counter attacks really well.”
It was the ninth league games in a row that Bayern have fallen behind, a club record. It was also Bayern’s second loss of the season and only the fourth defeat for Flick in his 60th game in charge in all competitions, two of those against Gladbach.
Bayern remain top of the German top flight but RB Leipzig could overtake them with victory over fourth-placed Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
