Transfer-listed Kaizer Chiefs duo Lazarous Kambole and Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya face an uncertain future following the closure of the domestic transfer window.
Both players were made available for a possible exit six weeks ago with the club hoping to find prospective interested parties.
The lack of any concrete offers has left the players in limbo and out of favour despite still possessing active contracts.
The only possible solution to clinching a transfer from the Soweto giants would be to leagues whose transfer windows remain open.
Kambole – with one year left on his contract – had options of leaving in the last two months but resisted the temptation to leave and instead seems to have decided to fight for a place in the team.
The Zambian is still registered and was an unused substitute in the goalless draw against TS Galaxy with Chiefs remaining thin in attacking options.
Kambole has scored just once in 40 appearances over two seasons with doubts hanging over his future under Stuart Baxter.
With Ntiya-Ntiya his case for game-time appears bleak considering the options available for Chiefs on the left.
The 24-year-old has Sifiso Hlanti, Sibusiso Mabiliso, Happy Mashiane and Thabani Dube all sitting in front of him in the queue.
Last season he made just four appearance and his contract expires at the end of next season.
The transfer window closed at midnight on Wednesday with over 300 signings made between the 32 DStv Premiership and GladAfrica Championship clubs over recent months.
However, several players remain unattached while certain clubs could still aim to bolster their options for the 2021/22 campaign with the Covid-19 pandemic still affecting the availability of players.
