The Premier Soccer League (PSL) head of legal Michael Murphy has resigned.
This has left the league reeling as it comes after the resignation of PSL prosecutor Nande Becker.
A source, who did not want to be named, confirmed that Murphy has also resigned.
The departure is a major blow for the league and comes at a crucial time with pending disciplinary cases against numerous high-profile clubs and individuals.
Coincidently, the PSL executive committee is believed to have held an emergency meeting on Monday to deliberate Kaizer Chiefs’ urgent request to postpone their December fixtures.
Chiefs are scheduled to meet Lamontville Golden Arrows at Princess Magogo Stadium in Durban on Wednesday.
The Soweto giants had failed to honour their fixture against Cape Town City on Saturday after reporting 31 positive cases of Covid-19 which has caused much disconcertion for the PSL.
The PSL’s executive committee is set to meet again on Wednesday morning to review the situation.
Fullview has attempted to reach Murphy and PSL acting CEO Mato Madlala for comment but to no avail.
