ActionSA’s Gauteng Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) has terminated the membership of Kholofelo Morodi following a disciplinary process linked to allegations before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry.
The party announced the decision on Saturday, after concluding a disciplinary process
“This decision was taken after a thorough and procedurally fair process. Morodi was formally notified of the allegations, afforded an opportunity to respond, granted an extension, and ultimately provided with a 72-hour period to make representations.”
“The PEC considered all submissions before arriving at its decision, “said ActionSA Gauteng leader Funzi Ngobeni.
He said the PEC evaluated evidence relating to conduct inconsistent with the party’s values, constitution and code of conduct, including provisions addressing behaviour that brings the party into disrepute.
He emphasised that the party takes integrity, accountability and ethical conduct seriously, particularly in matters involving public office and trust.
“Members of ActionSA are held to these standards without exception,” he said.
“The party will not hesitate to act where the conduct of its members undermines its integrity or the public institutions it seeks to strengthen.”
Morodi had been temporarily relieved of her duties by Tshwane Mayor Nasiphi Moya after concerns surfaced over potential tender and recruitment irregularities, including submissions from Morodi and Tshwane Metro Police Department Deputy Chief Umashi Dlamini.
Evidence suggested that job applications and tender documents were handled through informal channels, raising concerns about transparency and institutional integrity.
“I have carefully considered her response together with the information available, including communication records submitted to the commission,” Moya said, earlier this week.
“Based on this assessment, I am not satisfied that the concerns raised have been adequately addressed. The material reflects a pattern of engagement over an extended period, including an inappropriate relationship between Councillor Morodi and Sergeant Fannie Nkosi.”
Moya emphasised that the decision to relieve Morodi was aimed at safeguarding the integrity of the municipality and ensuring that processes arising from the Commission proceed fairly and without interference.
