The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) will brief the South Africans on Wednesday, 29 July 2026, on its state of readiness for the second and final national Voter Registration Weekend, scheduled for 1 and 2 August 2026.
This final registration weekend builds on the success of the first, during which the Commission processed approximately 2.9 million voter registration transactions.
The briefing will provide an update on the Commission’s readiness for the final Voter Registration Weekend and outline operational preparations for the drive.
During the weekend, all 23 706 voting stations across the country will be open from 08:00 to 17:00 on both days to assist eligible South Africans to register, verify their registration status, or update their registration details, including their residential addresses where necessary.
