Award-winning actress and social media star peels back the curtain on generational trauma and the gritty reality of modern motherhood.

Pan Macmillan South Africa announced the publication of From One Mother to Another by Ntando Rambani, written in conjunction with Zibu Sithole.

Growing up in a world where love was complicated by violence and emotional absence, Ntando Rambani had to navigate the high stakes of growing up without an example. Now, she invites readers into her journey of self-discovery under public scrutiny.

She candidly explores years of unlearning generational trauma to intentionally raise a family with warmth and safety – becoming the mother she always wanted to be for her own children.

From One Mother to Another strips away the Instagram-perfect myths of parenting to expose the beautiful, gritty reality of healing while raising a family. It validates the struggles of modern motherhood and hands readers the tools to reclaim their own family’s future, regardless of their circumstances.

“This isn’t a manual. It’s not perfect advice. I don’t have all the answers,” says Rambani. “It is about understanding the importance of raising our kids while we’re still raising ourselves. My hope is that this book makes you feel seen and understood, that you cry a bit, laugh a bit more, and give yourself a little more grace.”

Zodwa Kumalo-Valentine, Commissioning Editor at Pan Macmillan, adds: “Ntando has led an eventful and storied life, mostly in the public eye. There’s real courage in choosing to reflect openly and honestly about where she’s come from, what she’s learnt, and how it’s shaped who she’s becoming. In a world where we easily mistake a media personality’s image for the real thing, Ntando writes her truth in this book, with the help of Zibu Sithole.”

From One Mother to Another is available in bookstores nationwide from September.
