Political parties are signing the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC)’s Code of Conduct on Wednesday, ahead of the 4 November elections.
The signing will see parties formally commit to upholding the principles of free and fair elections throughout the campaign.
The code prohibits political intimidation, incitement to violence and the spread of false information, while protecting the right of all contestants to campaign freely.
