Kaizer Chiefs completed the signing of former Sekhukhune United and Esperance winger Elias Mokwana, as they look to sharpen their attacking options.

Mokwana, (27), who hails from KwaMhlanga, returns to the Premier Soccer League (PSL) after moving from Sekhukhune United to Esperance two years ago and also spending time on loan at Saudi club Al Hazem.

“The talented winger joins the club after gaining valuable experience in North Africa and the Middle East,” the club stated.

“The 27-year-old, who hails from KwaMhlanga in Mpumalanga, returns to South African football after spending the past two seasons abroad following his move from Sekhukhune United to Tunisian giants, Espérance Sportive de Tunis, in 2024. Welcome to the Kaizer Chiefs Family.”

His signing will come as major boost for Chiefs who have slipped behind in the Betway Premiership standings and were knocked out of the African Confederation Cup.

Chiefs have won two of their last seven outings and were beaten in last Saturday’s Soweto derby.

Mokwana made his senior Bafana Bafana debut against Andorra in March 2024 and has gone on to earn 11 caps for the national team. He was also part of South Africa’s squad at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, making two appearances during the continental tournament.
