Former Al Ahly player and board member Mohamed Fadl has called Pitso Mosimane lucky to coach Al Ahly, saying the South African will leave the club soon.
Since signing for Al Ahly in October 2020, Mosimane has been quite successful as he won all competitions he took part in [CAF Champions League and Egypt Cup] apart from the Club World Cup where he finished third.
However, there have been many question marks regarding the team’s performance and results under his guidance recently after the Reds dropped eight points from their last six games.
Most recently the team suffered shock defeats to Ghazl El-Mahalla and Smouha while also being held by El-Gouna to a 1-1 draw at home.
Despite the Reds bouncing back with a tough 2-1 victory at Ittihad of Alexandria, ex-Al Ahly forward Mohamed Fadl believes Mosimane will not last long in Cairo.
“Pitso Mosimane is a lucky coach and is good during big games only, “Mohamed Fadl said.
People remember Al Ahly’s performance during the René Weiler era and the achievements of Manuel José only.
Mosimane doesn’t yet know the potential of coaching Al Ahly. It is not right to play Walter Bwalya at the expense of Mohamed Sherif.
“Next season Bwalya will probably leave on loan, due to the inability of Mosimane to gradually integrate him into the team.”
“Mosimane’s management of the games is poor. We saw Ghazl El-Mahalla and Al Masry completely dominating their matches against Al Ahly.”
Mosimane will not continue with Al Ahly and the club will search for a new coach. It’s not information I know, but rather an expectation.
“Because Mosimane is not a coach for a team of a size of Al Ahly. They deserve a better coach than him.
“I predicted Al Ahly’s victory at the last derby, which happened. I hope the Reds will win the next derby.
“Zamalek have more technical problems more than Al Ahly, but Mosimane’s reading of the matches is not good and Carteron outperforms him in it, but with the return of injured players, the team will become better.
