The defending champions South Africa beat stubborn Angola 2-0 in the Group B clash at ABB Stadium in Motola, Mozambique.
Amajita continued the strong start to their title defence following a 3-0 victory over Lesotho in their opening match. The latest win takes them to six points from two matches.
Captain Lazola Maku opened the scoring in the 13th minute after getting on the end of a low cross from Steven Mendes before firing into the top-right corner to give South Africa a 1-0 lead.
Mendes then turned goalscorer before half-time, converting from an Emile Witbooi delivery to double Amajita lead.
Angola struggled to create clear opportunities as Amajita maintained their clean sheet and saw out the match with another victory.
The result leaves South Africa in a strong position in Group B as they continue their bid to defend their regional title.
Amajita will play their final Group B match against Eswatini on Wednesday at 12pm.
The 12-team competition runs until September 27, with the three pool winners and the best runner-up advancing to the semi-finals. The two finalists will qualify for the TotalEnergies CAF Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations Ghana 2027.
South Africa won the regional competition in Mozambique in 2024 before successfully defending their crown at the Region 5 Games in Namibia last year, when they defeated Malawi 3-0 in the final.
