The African National Congress (ANC) leaders from KwaZulu-Natal visited former president Jacob Zuma to seek guidance from him as a former party leader.
Zuma is currently serving the remainder of his 15 month prison term at home after being released on medical parole in September last year.
Speaking after the visit, party provincial chairperson Siboniso Duma said they have come to seek guidance and wisdom on certain issues.
As a former head of state and party leader, the ANC KZN believes Zuma is in a good position to offer guidance.
“We’ve spoken amongst other things – the issue of building the nation. [We spoke about] things [on] how to make sure that you transfer back what belongs to the people of KwaZulu-Natal, the economy wealth and the land, “Duma said.
The ANC KZN will continue drawing experience and guidance from other former party leaders.
This follows the senior party leaders’ visit earlier this month to former president Thabo Mbeki at his foundation’s offices in Johannesburg.
At the time, Duma said their engagement with Mbeki formed part of efforts of organisational renewal and unity.
The ANC in KZN has made no secret how it feels about the treatment of Zuma by the party since he was forced to step down on 14 February 2018.
