The opening match of the TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations 2022 will see hosts Morocco face Burkina Faso on 2 July at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat.
The complete tournament schedule was determined on Friday evening after the draw in Rabat.
Moroccan Nawal El Moutawakel and Cameroonian Ajara Njoya participated in the ceremony and assisted CAF Competitions Director Samson Adamu with the draw.
Banyana Banyana were drawn in the same group with defending champions Nigeria who beat them in the last final.
Botswana and Burundi are among the four teams which will be making their debut appearances in the showpiece that is also the first to feature 12 teams.
Tournament hosts, Morocco are in Group A alongside Senegal, Uganda and debutants Burkina Faso, while Group B features Cameroon, Zambia, Tunisia and Togo.

This year’s finals will double as the African qualifiers for the 2023 Fifa Women’s World Cup which is set to be jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
The top four African teams will automatically qualify for the global tournament and two more teams will advance to the inter-confederation play-offs.
