Internationally acclaimed DJ and music producer Nkosinathi Maphumulo, popularly known as Black Coffee is recovering after a “severe travel accident” in Argentina,his management has confirmed.
The Grammy award winner was injured on his way to a performance in Mar Del Plata, a statement posted on his social media accounts.
“The incident resulted in unforeseen complications and left him with some injuries,” read the statement.
“We can confirm he is receiving the best possible medical attention and is surrounded by a supportive family and team.”
His management team also asked for patience from his fans and the media.
“Despite the challenges presented, Black Coffee is optimistic and recovering well. He looks forward to being back with you soon.”
In the backdrop of his thrust into the limelight, Black Coffee has managed to remain relevant within the entertainment industry. He has quickly become one of the most sought-after DJs in the world.
Black Coffeee has played in some of the biggest arenas in the world, including the Madison Square Garden in New York, USA.
The house music muso is one of the most decorated DJs on the African continent and the first to have won both a Grammy and a BET Award.
His work has also earned him several gongs at the South African Music Awards, Metro FM Awards, DJ Awards and Dance Music Awards.
