Cape Town City Football Club have confirmed the signing of an out-of-favour Mamelodi Sundowns striker Thabiso Kutumela.
The news of Kutumela joining City was confirmed by coach Eric Tinkler after their 2-1 defeat to Kaizer Chiefs in the MTN8.
The two previously worked together at Maritzburg United and Orlando Pirates.
“We’re very, very happy to bring him because obviously, he will give us an added number, said Tinkler.”
Kutumela scored five goals and registered six assists in 38 games for Sundowns since his move from Maritzburg United.
Meanwhile Mamelodi Sundowns defender Lyle Lakay has agreed to a permanent move to SuperSport United.
The left-back was on a season-long loan at Cape Town City in the last campaign where he made 18 league appearances.
The 31-year-old is once again not in the plans of Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena.
Lakay was named PSL defender of the year in 2021/22 campaign but fell out of favour at the reigning DStv Premiership champions.
