Cape Town Spurs have announced the latest addition to their technical team as they look to revive the struggling side post Shaun Bartlett’s departure.
Spurs suffered their seventh straight defeat on Saturday, losing 3-1 to rivals Cape Town City in the iKapa derby.
The club announced Sean Connor as the technical director on 30 September, but have now elevated him to the position of temporary head coach.
Connor is a UEFA pro license coach with extensive experience in various roles in the industry.
This is not Connor’s first time in South Africa and he had an undistinguished stint at Black Leopards in 2014. However, he lasted only two months at the club, never received his work permit.
On Monday, the Urban Warriors unveiled Connor’s right-hand man in former Cape Town City and AmaZulu mentor Vasili Manousakis, who worked closely with Benni McCarthy.
Manousakis has been working on his UEFA A Licence since departing Richards Bay when his contract expired at the end of last season.
