Kaizer Chiefs collected six points from Zesco United after a CAF Confederation Cup group stage match at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Sunday afternoon.
Chiefs broke the deadlock after 14 minutes when a one-touch move by Flavio Da Silva and Mfundo Vilakazi released Glodi Lilepo who came in on the right and found the bottom-corner to make it two goals in two games this week.
Zesco pushed for an equaliser and created several chances, particularly in the second half, but were denied by a disciplined Chiefs defence and a solid performance from goalkeeper Brandon Petersen.
Chiefs also came close to extending their lead, with Lebohang Maboe striking the crossbar late on, as Amakhosi held on to claim all three points.
Meanwhile CR Belouizdad delivered a commanding away performance to claim a convincing 3–0 victory over Stellenbosch. The Algerian side, controlled proceedings and were rewarded in the second half with three well-taken goals.
Abdennour Belhocini broke the deadlock in the 80th minute with a powerful header, before substitute Islam Abbaciadded a third eight minutes later, also with a header from close range. Islam Abbaci put matters beyond reach for the home side in the 88th minute to give the visitors an impressive 3-0 win on the road.
