Kaizer Chiefs will be aiming to continue their winning ways off the back of an impressive Soweto Derby victory into Sunday’s DStv Premiership visit to Maritzburg United.
It will not be an easy encounter against the side led by former Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp, and where Chiefs have not won since 2017.
The last six meetings have resulted in three wins for United and two draws, with just a single success for Chiefs.
“Maritzburg will not be easy and they have not been an easy team to beat when they play at home,” Chiefs winger Kgaogelo Sekgota said.
“They have also not had the greatest of starts so they are looking for maximum points. They will want to start picking up points so they can move away from the bottom half and we are aware of it.
“We are also looking for the three points so we can move up the log table. It will be a tough game.”
Chiefs have been in improved form following a tough start to the season, having taken nine points from the last 12 available, including that 2-1 win over Orlando Pirates.
