Kaizer Chiefs claimed back-to-back wins with a 2-0 victory over struggling Magesi FC at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday evening.
After a goalless draw at the half-hour mark, Wandile Duba, with an assist from Glody Lilepo, broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute.
In the 84th minute, Mfundo Vilakazi scored the second goal to give the home side a healthy cushion going into the final minutes.
The victory propelled the Glamour Boys into the fourth position with 36 points from 20 games. However, they could lose fourth spot if Sekhukhune United beat Golden Arrows on Sunday.
Chiefs are next up against Orbit College on 6 April at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha, while Magesi’s battle for safety continues against struggling Marumo Gallants on 7 April at the Seshego Stadium in Polokwane.
