Kaizer Chiefs have announced that full-back Sifiso Hlanti has signed a one-year contract extension, with an option for a further year.
Hlanti’s initial deal with Chiefs was set to expire on June 30.
Last season, the 33-year-old Hlanti played 29 matches across all competitions and scored two goals in the process.
“We are happy that we have agreed on this contract extension with S’fiso. He is an important member of the team, given his experience and ability. We look forward to his continued hard-work and sharing of his knowledge with the young players we have in the team,” says Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr.
Meanwhile, midfielder Cole Alexander has concluded his time at Chiefs after reaching an agreement with the Club to become a free agent.
The midfielder had a year remaining on his contract. However, following negotiations between his representatives and Club management, a mutual consensus was reached for him to be released.
Born in Cape Town, 33-year-old Alexander signed for Amakhosi on a three-year deal in a free transfer from Indian side, Odisha in 2021. He featured in 21 matches (17 starts) during his first season, but recurrent injuries limited him to only four starts and three substitute appearances last term.
Alexander is the third player to leave the Club since the conclusion of last season, following the departures of Siyabonga Ngezana and Phathutshedzo Nange.
