Eskom has made more changes to its load shedding schedule, continuing the inconsistent pattern of suddenly shifting stages in line with the instability of the grid.
The power utility said that load shedding will now drop to stage 2 from 09h00 on Tuesday (5 December) before ramping back up to stage 3 at 16h00.
From there Stage 3 load shedding will last until 16:00 on Wednesday, when Stage 4 will run until 05:00 on Thursday. Stage 3 load shedding will then return until Friday evening.
The utility said that the downgrade is due to improved generation capacity and adequate emergency reserves.
The group previously communicated a rotation between stage 3 and stage 4 for the rest of the week.
Given the sudden changes made to load shedding schedules over the past few weeks, South Africans should expect more changes as they happen.
