The controversial businessman and media personality Sibusiso “Dj Sbu” Leope-Nkosi has dismissed damning allegations that they swindled millions from City Of Ekurhuleni.
The Head of Risk and Legal Services for the City of Ekurhuleni, Kemi Behari told the Madlanga Judicial Commission of Inquiry that Leope-Nkosi and Thembinkosi “TK” Nciza have unduly benefitted over R100 million from the City.
In 2001, Leope-Nkosi co-founded TS Records, a record label, with Nciza.
In a statement on Monday evening, Leope-Nkosi described the allegations as false, misleading, and unsubstantiated.
“These allegations, which attempt to implicate myself and businessman Thembinkosi TK Nciza, are entirely false, defamatory, and without any factual basis,” he wrote.
Leope-Nkosi denied any involvement in wrongdoing, misconduct, or unethical activity of any kind. He added that throughout his career in broadcasting, entrepreneurship, and public service, he has conducted himself with integrity, transparency, and respect for the law.
“I am deeply concerned that these allegations appear to be part of an attempt to divert attention from ongoing internal matters and personal accountability issues by creating false narratives involving respected public figures,” he wrote.
“I urge the public, media, and stakeholders to exercise caution, verify facts, and avoid amplifying unverified claims that serve only to mislead and harm innocent parties.
My focus remains on serving my audience, building ethical businesses, creating employment, and contributing meaningfully to the development of our society,” he wrote.
Leope-Nkosi said he will continue to cooperate fully with any lawful investigation and welcome any process that is grounded in fairness, evidence, and justice.
