Borussia Dortmund host arch nemesis Bayern Munich at the Signal Iduna Park for the 2026 Franz Beckenbauer Supercup at Signal Iduna Park on Saturday.

The game officially kicks off the new campaign for both teams, who are looking to mark it with a silverware in this crunch single-legged cup affair.

The defending Bundesliga champions, Bayern, warmed up with convincing wins over RB Leipzig and FC Heidenheim 1846.

Dortmund tuned up last Saturday by coming from two goals down to force a 2-2 draw at home to Italian side AS Roma. Julian Ryerson and talismanic striker Serhou Guirassy bagged the Dortmund goals.

Bayern have strengthened an already star-studded squad with the arrival of Germany left-back Nathaniel Brown and Morocco’s World Cup star Ismael Saibari.

Likewise, Dortmund have injected some talent into the squad. Greece teenager Konstantinos Karetsas has signed from Belgian side Genk, compatriot Giannis Konstantelias from PAOK Thessaloniki and Dutch international Joey Veerman from PSV Eindhoven.

Fresh from winning the Europe-wide Golden Shoe on Wednesday for a stellar campaign in 2026-27, England striker Harry Kane will be chasing his first goals of the new season.
