Former Al Ahly coach praises Mosimane, Tau performance below par.

Former Al Ahly assistant manager David Sesa has shared his thoughts on the comparison between former head coach Rene Weiler and his successor Pitso Mosimane.

The Red Devils have recently played their third consecutive CAF Champions League final, but unfortunately, they were defeated by Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca.

As a result of the Reds’ loss, head coach Pitso Mosimane was heavily criticized by many as they believed he was to blame.

However, former assistant manager David Sesa defended the South African, while also criticizing a number of players.

Al Ahly didn’t play well against Wydad. Despite having a lot of good players, they weren’t having a good game, “Sesa said.

“Mosimane is a good coach, and he won two CAF Champions League titles with the team.

“Compared to Weiler, Mosimane’s playstyle is different, when I worked with Weiler we were more focused on attacking and scoring more goals.”

Speaking on Percy Tau and Miquissone, Sesa added: “Tau was very good in Belgium, but right now, his performance has gotten worse and he’s not on the level to play for Al Ahly.

“Miquissone is not performing well too, the two players are not on Al Ahly level right now.”

While Mosimane’s agent Moira Tlhagale expressed her disappointment, calling it disheartening to see some people pushing for his departure after every game.

“It is quite disheartening that a person can do so much but people are never really happy,” Tlhagale said.

“I don’t know their reasons, but I believe coach Mosimane has done extremely well.

“Having said that, it is important to make it clear it is not all Al Ahly supporters who have been critical.

“Coach Pitso has been well received and supported by most Al Ahly supporters who appreciate his contribution to the team and the seven titles he has achieved in less than 20 months.

Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Bongani Zungu meanwhile has stated that he likes taking risks, hinting a potential move to Egypt through Al Ahly.

Zungu started his career in South Africa back in 2012, moving between Dynamos FC, University of Pretoria, and Mamelodi Sundowns.

He is now a free agent as he didn’t renew his contract with the French outfit, and rumors have linked him to a potential move to Al Ahly where he could reunite with Mosimane.
