Former Kwazulu-Natal Education spokesperson and astute businessman Mandla Msibi has passed away aged 68.
Msibi was the late National Freedom Party (NFP) leader Zanele Magwaza-Msibi’s husband, died early hours of this morning, around 4am.
His daughter Sithembile Msibi confirmed the news that her father had died, after complaining with flu last week.
Msibi was the provincial Education spokesperson after leaving the SABC in the ’90s. In 2008 he married the late kaMagwaza-Msibi who at the time was the IFP national chairperson.
Magwaza and Msibi have had a long-standing relationship, but few knew that the wedding bells would finally ring.
The wedding ceremony was held at the Newcastle Farmers’ Hall after a church service at St Peters and Paul Church.
The final ceremony was at Msibi parents’ home in Osizweni Township.
At the time of his passing, Msibi was a well-known farmer, a property mogul and he believed that as long as he manages his farming enterprise carefully, a future does exist for him – but on his terms.
Msibi leaves behind his children and mother.
Funeral arrangements will be announced as soon as they are finalised.
