A kidnapping victim was rescued in the Gauteng suburb of Mayfield, on the East Rand, during a predawn raid by members of the police special task force.
The suspects were arrested on Thursday.
Police says the gang has been linked to at least 16 cases of kidnapping for ransom in Gauteng.
Police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe says officers also confiscated several items at the properties.
“At these premises, police also seized five high-performance powered vehicles including two BMWs, two Mercedes Benz sedans and one Toyota Urban Cruiser.
“Twenty cell phones and thirty portable GPS tracking devices are also among the items seized by the team.”
Mathe said a businessman who was kidnapped earlier this month was rescued from one of the premises and reunited with his family.
