The countdown to the biggest FIFA World Cup in history has begun, and fans across the globe are rushing to secure their seats. During the ten-day Visa Presale Draw, more than 4.5 million ticket applications poured in from 216 countries and territories, underlining the tournament’s unparalleled global pull.

Unsurprisingly, the host nations led the way. The United States generated the highest number of applications, followed closely by Mexico and Canada. Beyond North America, the top ten included football powerhouses Germany, England, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Spain and Italy, reflecting the event’s universal appeal.

“These are not only outstanding figures, but also a strong statement,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino. “The whole world wants to be part of the FIFA World Cup 26: the biggest, most inclusive and most exciting event ever seen. From Canada, Mexico and the United States to countries big and small across every continent, fans are proving once again that the passion for football truly unites. In 2026, with 48 teams playing in 16 incredible cities, the world will come together in North America like never before.”

The first wave of ticket notifications will be issued on a rolling basis from Monday, 29 September. Successful applicants will be assigned a time slot from Wednesday, 1 October to complete their purchases, although entry into the draw does not guarantee availability. Prices start from just USD 60 for group-stage fixtures, with tickets on offer for all 104 matches. Venue-specific and team-specific ticket options will also be available.

In a further move to protect supporters, FIFA will launch an official resale platform on Thursday, 2 October, ensuring fans can buy and sell tickets securely through FIFA.com/tickets. Mexican residents will also have access to a dedicated exchange system.

The journey does not stop there. The second ticketing phase begins on Monday, 27 October with the Early Ticket Draw, offering fans another opportunity to be part of football’s grandest stage. For those seeking an enhanced matchday experience, single- and multi-match hospitality packages are already on sale at FIFA.com/hospitality.

With record-breaking demand and unprecedented global reach, FIFA World Cup 26 is shaping up to be more than just a tournament, it promises to be a celebration of football on a scale never seen before.
