Indian captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, won the toss and chose to bowl first in the third and final Women’s T20 International against South Africa at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Tuesday.
It is the third time India have chosen to bowl first.
South Africa won the first match at the same venue by 12-runs after posting a record score of 189-4 and registered another highly competitive total of 177-6 in the second match before it was washed out at the halfway stage.
Tazmin Brits followed her career best 81 in the first match with 52 in the second.
India won the ODI series 3-0 and the one-off test match by 10-wickets but the tourists, as expected, have proved to be far more effective in the shortest format.
South Africa kept the same starting XI for the third consecutive match while India kept the same starting XI from the second match having made four changes between the first and second games.
