Kaizer Chiefs Football Club has released lanky Burundian international Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana after just one season at the Naturena based side.
Chiefs announced the release of the Burundi forward on Wednesday, He started the season with promising signs as he took an early lead in the race for the PSL Golden Boot, but a thigh injury derailed his progress.
“Kaizer Chiefs have come to an agreement with striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana to part ways after one season,” reads Chiefs’ short statement.
“He featured 21 times for Chiefs (17 starts + 4 subs) and found the back of the net eight times. He will be free to join a team.”
Bimenyimana went on to make 21 appearances for Chiefs across all competitions, scoring eight goals and creating one assist.
His departure follows the arrival of Ranga Chivaviro, who has scored 17 goals across all competitions, with 10 of those in the league, with Marumo Gallants.
Chiefs are also waiting for the arrival of Colombian striker Efmamjjasond González who will join Chiefs on loan with an option to buy him at the end of the season.
