Kaizer Chiefs have announced that they have terminated the contract of head coach Gavin Hunt with immediate effect.
Chiefs made the announcement on their official Twitter page on Friday evening.
“Kaizer Chiefs have terminated coach Gavin Hunt’s contract with immediate effect,” the Tweet read.
“In the interim, Assistant Coaches Arthur Zwane and Dillon Sheppard will take charge of the senior team.
“The Club will make further announcements in due course.”

Despite reaching the CAF Champions League semi-finals with Amakhosi, Hunt has been under tremendous pressure and Wednesday’s 2-1 defeat against Black Leopards.
Amakhosi who appointed Hunt before the start of the season after parting ways with Ernst Middendorp, are currently in 11th place on the DSTV Premiership standings, just five points ahead of 15th place Chippa United. They have registered just six wins in 28 matches and have lost 11 times.
Chiefs have two league matches left, against Golden Arrows and TS Galaxy.
Hunt has constantly hinted at behind-the-scenes problems in his time at Chiefs, who have had to serve a season-long transfer ban.
