The Bundesliga heads into the international break on the back of a matchday that saw 30 goals, significant milestones, plus plenty of drama on and off the pitch.
Harry Kane celebrated his 100th appearance for FC Bayern München in all competitions with two assists as the record champions secured a 3-2 victory after holding off FC Augsburg, who scored two second-half goals.
England striker Kane has netted 91 goals for FC Bayern, putting him in an elite category alongside Gerd Müller and Robert Lewandowski. The Men from Munich enter the international break with a 100 per cent record alongside early pace-setters Eintracht Frankfurt and 1. FC Köln, who also won both of their opening games.
Eintracht Frankfurt new signing Ritsu Dõan put his hand up for Goal of the Month with an absolute beauty in his side’s 3-1 away win over TSG Hoffenheim. Dõan is one of six Japanese players in the Bundesliga who will represent Samurai Blue during the international break in their matches against Mexico and the USA.
Meanwhile, 18-year-old Karim Coulibaly wrote his name in SV Werder Bremen history, becoming the youngest player to score for Die Grünweißen at 18 years, 3 months and 7 days, eclipsing former holder Aaron Hunt and completing a dramatic comeback to snatch a point in a 3-3 draw against Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
The result also ended Erik ten Hag’s time as Leverkusen head coach after just three games in charge.
The transfer window officially closed on Monday night. Nicolas Jackson was the big name on deadline day as he switched Chelsea for FC Bayern, Conrad Harder traded Sporting CP for RB Leipzig, and former Bundesliga champion Victor Boniface joined SV Werder Bremen on a season-long loan from Bayer 04. Hamburger SV also strengthen their midfield with a loan move for Arsenal midfielder Fabio Vieira.
