The internationally acclaimed saxophonist and composer Linda Sikhakhane returns to the venue where he first introduced himself as a bandleader nearly a decade ago, when Braamfontein’s legendary The Orbit Jazz Club called 81 De Korte Street home.
Today, the venue lives on as Jozi Gold Brewing Company, where Jazz at Jozi Gold continues the building’s rich musical legacy through weekly performances celebrating South Africa’s finest jazz musicians.
Born in Umlazi with deep roots in KwaNongoma, Sikhakhane has become one of South Africa’s leading contemporary jazz voices. Signed to Blue Note / Universal Music Africa, his music weaves together African spirituality, folklore and modern jazz, creating a sound that has earned him international acclaim while remaining deeply connected to his heritage.
His return to this historic stage will also offer audiences an exclusive preview of music from his forthcoming fifth album, LINDA, making the evening both a homecoming and a glimpse into the next chapter of one of South Africa’s most compelling jazz careers.
