Advocate Drushantha Ramsamy, a State Advocate with Independent Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC), a unit of the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) is testifying at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry at the Bridgette Mabandla Justice College in Tshwane.
Ramsamy asserts that former IDAC head Advocate Andrea Johnson provided inaccurate information regarding the Dineo Mokwele case and her (Ramsamy) involvement.
She states that Johnson personally selected her to participate in this project.
According to Ramsamy, the rationale for her selection was the belief that, as an advocate, she would not raise inquiries.
Ramsamy states that Johnson frequently diverged from established protocols and exhibited an independent approach to tasks.
She further asserts that these deviations from documented procedures were consistent and accompanied by an atmosphere of intimidation. Ramsamy indicates that Johnson was colloquially referred to as “Flip-flop.”
A Rule 3 notice will be issued to Johnson, requiring a response to the new allegations presented by Ramsamy.
