Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize will be appearing before the Parliament’s Health Committee this morning to respond to alleagations of his involvement in the irregular R500 million Digital Vibes contract.
It’s been alleged he benefited from this contract, which was awarded to some of his close associates.
But President Cyril Ramaphosa says Mkhize won’t be suspended.
Neither will he be asked to take a leave of absence while corruption allegations against him are being investigated.
The president says he doesn’t believe the claims of impropriety will taint the country’s vaccination programme.
