Real Madrid Football Club have angrily denied that they have started negotiations with Kylian Mbappe over a move to the Bernabeu.
Mbappe has been a target of the Spanish club and could leave PSG when his contract expires next summer.
PSG accepted a world record bid of £259m from Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal for the 24-year-old in July, but Mbappe rejected the move.
Madrid said they have had no talks with the 2018 World Cup winner.
“Given the information recently issued and published by different media outlets, in which there is speculation about alleged negotiations between the player Kylian Mbappe and our club, Real Madrid wants to state that this information is flatly false and that no such negotiations have taken place with a player who belongs to PSG,” said the La Liga club in a statement.
Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham, Inter Milan and Barcelona have all been linked with Mbappe, who could leave PSG for free at the end of this season and is widely thought to prefer a move to Madrid.
He had rejected a move to Madrid back in the summer of 2022, when he opted to sign a new contract with PSG instead. But that did not concern Los Blancos president Florentino Perez, who left the door open for a future move for the attacker.
Mbappe was at first dropped out of the first-team squad, but ultimately stayed in the French capital. And he has enjoyed an impressive start to the season, scoring 12 goals in all competitions.
