MANSCAPES: The Art of Producing a Fine Art Coffee Table Book through Crowdfunding.

Entertainment Reporter.

MANSCAPES is a fine art Coffee Table book by celebrated DUDOIR photographer Corné Du Plessis. DUDOIR Photography is a celebration of the modern man and his physique, transforming masculinity into art.  It re-unites men with their true selves, who they are and not solely objects of desire.  The photos emphasise the natural beauty of the male form taking the naked body beyond eroticism.

MANSCAPES is a hardcover photo book with printed dust jacket, 110 pages measuring 24 x 33 cm (9.6 x 13.2 inches).  All the images have already been taken and are ready for the page layouts and for the book to be published. There will also be LIMITED EDITION 50 cloth bound copies with 3 special offers available for editions 1, 25 and 50 which will entitle the purchaser to one free print of a picture of their choice from the book.

In order to publish MANSCAPES the funding for the printing is being raised through the crowdfunding platform THUNDAFUND.  Purchasers will be able to order and prefund their purchases of the book by pledging their funding through the THUNDAFUND platform.

This is Corné Du Plessis’ first book and will be coupled with a solo on-line gallery exhibition curated by the  Henry George Gallery in Johannesburg ( http://www.henrygeorgegallery.co.za/).  Using crowdfunding helps to keep the publishing cost low in order to make the book more affordable and creating a fun interactive way for people to be part of the creative process – bringing art to life.

About the Artist and Photographer: Corné Du Plessis.

Corné was born in South Africa in 1968 and is based in Johannesburg. From a very young age he was fascinated by cameras and photography, which remained part of his life’s journey. Corné had a varied career from working in the corporate sector to owning a franchise store, part of an international brand.  In 2013 his life journey took a new direction when he decided to pursue his passion for photography as a full-time career. Honouring his own fitness goals and understanding of the male physique has led to him honing the skill of male portrait and fitness photography, which naturally evolved into DUDOIR photography.
