The uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party has allayed fears over the health of its leader, Jacob Zuma, confirming that he is in good spirits and excellent health following a scheduled medical visit.

Fullview learnt that Zuma was admitted on Tuesday night, October 6, 2026, after falling ill earlier in the day.

However according to the official party statement, the 84-year-old statesman attended a local facility for his standard routine medical check-ups.

The party emphasised these visits are entirely preventative and part of a regular health management schedule, noting that Zuma undergoes a full comprehensive check-up twice every year to ensure his continued well-being.

With just a month left until Local Government Elections, MK party appears to be tightening its grip on eThekwini, with a new voter poll suggesting it is on course to emerge as the metro’s dominant political force.

According to a survey, voter sentiment has shifted dramatically in KwaZulu-Natal’s (KZN) largest municipality, where the ANC has traditionally enjoyed strong support.

Meanwhile expelled MK Party members Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla and Nhlamulo Ndhlela are challenging their expulsion in the South Gauteng High Court.

They have now approached the court, arguing that their expulsion was unfair and unlawful.

In June, the MK Party said the duo’s social media activity and conduct at party events had caused confusion and fuelled divisions within the organisation.

“The national officials have resolved that Ms Zuma-Sambudla and Mr Nhlamulo Ndhlela have acted in a manner fundamentally inconsistent with the values, discipline, constitutional principles and organisational interests of the MK Party,” MK Party secretary-general Sibonelo Nomvalo said.
