Orlando Pirates Football Club have announced the departure of defender Sandile Mthethwa.
In a statement, the club said, both parties have agreed to part ways amicably.
Fullview learnt that Pirates were not planning to offer Mthethwa a contract extension. With his current deal set to expire in June 2025.
Mthethwa joined the club in 2016, having been spotted at an annual youth tournament in Kwazulu-Natal (KZN).He was one of three players identified at the tournament – the other two being Thobela Sikhakhane and Brian Hlongwa.
In central defence, he was competing with Thabiso Sesane, Nkosinathi Sibiso, Olisa Ndah, and Thapelo Xoki. Additionally, he can play at right-back, a position currently occupied by Deano Van Rooyen, Thabiso Monyane, and Bandile Shandu.
Meanwhile Katlego Otladisa will leave the club on a loan move to Sekhukhune United for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.
Having joined the club from Marumo Gallants after an impressive forway to the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup, he has been unable to break into Jose Riveiro’s first XI. He made 12 first team appearances for Pirates during his time at the club.
