Orlando Pirates administrative officer Floyd Mbele has tendered his resignation, and he vacates the position with immediate effect.
Mbele was responsible for much of the day-to-day running and organisation of the club.
“Orlando Pirates has accepted the resignation of the club’s Administration Manager, Floyd Mbele. The Club Management wishes him the best in his future endeavours,” the club said in a statement.
The announcement comes just a month before the curtain comes down on the 2022/23 DStv Premiership season.
Mbele left Pirates after a previous stint in August 2011 to become a director at now-defunct Platinum Stars. He became chair of Stars in February 2012 and rejoined Pirates in July 2013.
Mbele could not be reached for comment at the time of publishing the story.
