South African captain, Aiden Markram, won the toss and chose to bat first in the first of three one-day internationals at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on Sunday morning.
The game is the famous ‘Pink Day’ during which the home team wears pink playing kit in order to raise awareness of Breast Cancer.
The home is playing two allrounders with Wiaan Mulder returning to international cricket alongside Andile Phehlukwayo while Tony de Zorzi replaces the retired Quinton de Kock at the top of the order.
India have handed a debut to top order batter Sai Sudharsan.
